This workshop is helpful for anyone who is new to teaching in English or those who have experience but wish to learn some new ideas, improve their English in a teaching context, and practice new techniques.
Lecturing to an international audience can present several challenges including cultural differences in teaching and learning, language barriers in understanding the material and a lack of confidence in interacting with the lecturer and other students in English. This one-day workshop will address these issues, offering tools and techniques to plan lectures that activate all students and create more effective, collaborative teaching sessions.
This workshop requires a short preparation and follow-up task: Partcipants will read a short text before workshop & write a short one-minute style paper after the workshop.
Content:
Participants gain confidence in delivering a lecture or seminar to an international group of students. This one-day workshop will highlight some key planning strategies and techniques on how to keep your audience engaged, how to overcome challenging scenarios and how to help students better retain material.
